EM_EXGETSEL Message

The EM_EXGETSEL message retrieves the starting and ending character positions of the selection in a rich edit control.

Syntax

To send this message, call the SendMessage function as follows.

lResult = SendMessage( 
    // returns LRESULT in lResult 
   (HWND) hWndControl, 
    // handle to destination control 
   (UINT) EM_EXGETSEL, 
    // message ID 
   (WPARAM) wParam, 
    // = (WPARAM) () wParam;

Parameters

wParam

This parameter is not used; it must be zero.

lParam

Pointer to a CHARRANGE structure that receives the selection range.

This message does not return a value.
