EM_EXSETSEL Message

The EM_EXSETSEL message selects a range of characters and/or Component Object Model (COM) objects in a Microsoft® Rich Edit control.

Syntax

To send this message, call the SendMessage function as follows.

lResult = SendMessage(
    // returns LRESULT in lResult
   (HWND) hWndControl,
    // handle to destination control
   (UINT) EM_EXSETSEL,
    // message ID
   (WPARAM) wParam,
    // = (WPARAM) () wParam;
   (LPARAM) lParam
    // = (LPARAM) () lParam;

);

Parameters

wParam

This parameter is not used; it must be zero.

lParam

Pointer to a CHARRANGE structure that specifies the selection range.

Return Value

The return value is the selection that is actually set.
