EM_GETTYPOGRAPHYOPTIONS Message


The EM_GETTYPOGRAPHYOPTIONS message returns the current state of the typography options of a rich edit control.

Syntax

To send this message, call the SendMessage function as follows.
lResult = SendMessage(     // returns LRESULT in lResult
   (HWND) hWndControl,     // handle to destination control
   (UINT) EM_GETTYPOGRAPHYOPTIONS,     // message ID
   (WPARAM) wParam,     // = (WPARAM) () wParam;
   (LPARAM) lParam     // = (LPARAM) () lParam;
);

Parameters

wParam
Not used; must be zero.
lParam
Not used; must be zero.

Return Value

The return value can be one of the following values.

TO_ADVANCEDTYPOGRAPHYAdvanced typography (special line breaking and line formatting) is turned on.
TO_SIMPLELINEBREAKNormal line breaking and formatting is used.

Remarks

You can turn on advanced line breaking by sending the EM_SETTYPOGRAPHYOPTIONS message. Advanced and normal line breaking may also be turned on automatically by the rich edit control if it is needed for certain languages.
