Audition, Contest, and Concert

Hmm, the Oxford Comma does looks funny sometimes, although I do think it’s correct.

Anyway, that’s pretty much what I did this weekend. On Thursday I auditioned for CYS. On Friday my brother and I went to the OOTFA State Fiddle Contest. Boy, fiddle contests are such fun. In the solo division I placed 6th, and in the twin (duet) division my brother and I placed 8th. People seemed to like the twin, though, even if the judges didn’t. :)

On Sunday, after being up until 12AM at the contest on Saturday, CJS (Corvallis Junior Symphony) had their concert. Man, we had a lot of music: Star Wars, parts of the 1812 Overture, the entire William Tell Overture, Gayane, a Mozart Piano concerto, and Scheherazade. The whole concert was about 1 hour 15 minutes long. (!!!)

I’m way to tired to post anything coherent now, but I thought I’d post this up anyway.

Oh, and check out Earthcore by Scott Sigler. You need to register to download the MP3s. It’s a great story, though.
