'Late Lusia/Lusia di Tardiva'

NEW FOR 2014! A beautiful round variegated chicory for winter harvest, similar to 'Castelfranco' in color pattern, but more enclosed, compact, and blanched. Makes a very pretty mid-winter salad with chervil, chickweed, and 'Red Ursa' kale. Plant between July 15 and September 15, 12" to 9" apart in the row (early plantings need more space). Harvest after frost, mid-October through winter. Hardy to around 15 F, depending on conditions.
