'MacGregor's Favorite Beet'

A rare olde thinge from Scotland, lost in commercial trade as far as we can tell, brought back here for its absolutely distinctive and delicious salad leaves. The magenta-purple leaves have a candy-metallic sheen, and are longer, narrower, and more tender than any other beet or chard leaf we know. This revived strain is much more vigorous than those available in the 1990’s, with good leafy production.
