This ‘Lorenziana’ selection illustrates the interesting twist that the fluted-flower mutation gave to the original native species’ “firewheel” form. One can see how the red/yellow-tipped ray flowers were rolled and partially opened, splitting the yellow tips into stars at the ends of ruby tubes.
